My name is Claire, I started making cards is a hobby and it has turned into my passion. I decide to setup a website to sell the cards I make. All profits will go to the Wheelchair Maintenance Fund. This fund was setup for me by friends to raise money to maintain or replace my very special wheelchair. My Wheelchair has four wheel drive this allows me to go up and down kerbs and over rough ground. It has a balance function which allows me to reach things at standing hight, also I can have eye level conversations with able boded people. The most amazing thing that my chair does. It climbs stairs which allows me to go almost anywhere I might need to.
I Have Cerebral Palsy and I use an electric wheelchair, I am the mother of two small children. I was struggling to do the things I need to using the wheelchair provided by the NHS. It did not meet my needs as an active Mother. A charity has paid for a very special wheelchair which has completely changed my life and my families. It has given me the independence I need. My wheelchair is privately owned which means all maintenance of the chair has to be paid for. As the wheelchair ages it has become very expensive to maintain the wheelchair and as time goes on this will not be possible. The wheelchair will need replacing with a new version. This why the fund has been setup. This website is my way of being able to help raise funds from my cards, I am not able to go to craft fairs to sell my cards, so this website is my version of a craft fair.
I have mentioned on the previous page The Wheelchair Maintenance Fund is on www.easyfundraising.org.uk/wmf so we can raise funds from on line shopping. We need as many people as possible to register with this site and shop for the Wheelchair Maintenance Fund. The more people that do this the more donations the retailers will give the fund. This does not cost any more for you purchases.
The other way you might wish to help us is to do internet searches on www.wmf.easysearch.org.uk just by using this search engine you can raise money for the Wheelchair Maintenance Fund.
We would welcome any other suggestions of how we can raise funds. It would be very welcome please contact us. It is not always easy to raise funds for things like the Wheelchair Maintenance Fund. Most people think that the government pays for a wheelchair when it is needed but that is not always the case if you have specific needs. I can not be without my wheelchair and the more ways we have to raise funds to stop that happening the better.
